Getting your file right
What is bleed?
Bleed is artwork extended ⅛″ past the trim so no white edge shows after cutting. Our templates mark the trim, bleed, and safe area for you.
File setup & accepted formats
We print from vector line art, one color per pass — no raster photos, gradients or screens. Send a clean vector file with each color on its own layer. Accepted: AI · INDD · PDF · PSD · JPG.
What is engraving?

A design is cut into a steel plate and the ink is pressed into the sheet — crisp, three-dimensional detail on the face, with the subtle bruise on the back that marks real engraving.

An engraved stationery envelope completes a fine correspondence set. The return address is incised into a metal plate and pressed up from the sheet, matching the engraved letterhead and cards it travels with. Crafted on quality stock and inspected by hand by Wells & Drew, engravers since 1855.
