Capabilities / Foil Stamping

Real shine ink can’t reach.

Foil stamping bonds a thin layer of metal foil to the sheet with a heated die. Gold, silver, copper, holographic, and matte pigment foils — run in-house, with the weight and reflection a printed metallic simply can’t fake.

Gold foil catching the light at an angle on a printed piece.
02What it is

Metal pressed into the sheet, not printed onto it.

A heated die presses a roll of metallic or pigment foil against the stock; under heat and pressure the foil releases from its carrier and bonds only where the die strikes. The result is a true mirror finish with edges sharp enough to register against type — not a metallic ink approximating shine.

01
A real reflection.

Foil is actual metal, so it catches light at an angle the way a printed metallic never will — mirror gold, brushed silver, warm copper.

02
More than metal.

Holographic foils throw a shifting spectrum; matte pigment foils lay down opaque color — including a clean white — that ink can’t hold on a dark stock.

03
Built to combine.

Foil registers over an emboss for a sculpted, dimensional mark — struck in the same building so the metal lands exactly on the relief.

03In-house

Struck here, checked against the proof.

Foil is heat, dwell, and pressure — too cool and it skips, too hot and it fills in. We dial it in on our own presses and check every strike against the proof you approved.

In-house, start to finish

The die is made and the foil is struck under one roof — nothing handed to a finisher who loses the thread between proof and press.

Set against the full range

Foil sits next to engraving, letterpress, and emboss in the same shop — combine finishes on one piece, in register.
