Wells & Drew’s Unique Printing Techniques Fit Your Style, Budget, And Desired Look.

Only a handful of printers have these capabilities and almost none with 165 year legacy of experience and quality.

  • Engrave – The diploma paper meets over two tons of pressure, and the ink is raised from the sheet. The result is a tactile, three-dimensional image that is the mark of excellence.
  • Foil Stamp – As the name implies, a foil-like material is pressed with heat and pressure to the diploma, typically reserved for the school seal or school name. This process can achieve a variety of specialized textures, including matte, metallic, holographic, and glossy finishes.
  • Emboss – Under one ton of pressure, your design is forced out of the paper, creating a three-dimensional image students can touch and feel.
  • Deboss – The opposite effect, recesses the image into the paper where it lies beneath the sheet level.
  • Letterpress – Essentially letterpress is debossing with ink. Your image is inked and forced into the paper, creating an indent you can see and touch. The soft cotton paper helps create the notorious indent letterpress is known for.
  • Raised Print – Also known as thermography, is achieved by offset printing, powder, and a heat tunnel. The heat and powder combined work to raise the ink from the sheet. Raised print is commonly used for cost savings instead of engraving.
