Bond Paper – A Classic Choice

One of the biggest decisions that a business can make is determining what type of stationery design best suits their needs and represents their image. With so many different types of paper out there in this market, and printing or gift shops filled to the brim with design ideas, it can be difficult to navigate this paper-centric world and determine which type of paper makes the best impression. Many people choose bond paper, for its long and rich history of use in business settings.

Not too flashy, though at the same time not too flimsy, bond paper is one of the most popular paper types. It is both high quality, durable, and resistant to tearing, making it useful for a variety of paper needs that a person or business may need. It is related to bank paper, another quality choice, but carries a bit more weight and heft to it. It falls short of reaching the weight of card stock, however. This makes it ideal for many uses, from use in commercial printers, to more elaborate projects of an artistic or decorative nature. This type of paper manages to retain a sense of its history while still appearing to be the most modern type of paper, trusted by students, teachers, and professionals all over the world.

The materials used to manufacture bond paper have changed over time. In modern times, most will be made from eucalyptus pulp. It used to contain a mixture of this eucalyptus, along with rag fiber pulp. This older version was tougher and more resilient to tears or stretching that could occur, but the smooth white finish of the paper we know and love today is purely eucalyptus. This smoothness makes the paper ideal for graphic design, as a pencil is capable of gliding smoothly right over the surface, free from smudges or other errors that could occur with different paper choices.

When making that all important decision regarding the paper type to be used for company letterhead or other stationery needs, give some serious thought to bond paper. There is a reason it has been so popular throughout the ages, and will continue to be used in so many settings. It is one of the most versatile, reliable papers on the market today, and is ideal for laser printers or other forms of electronic communication. Its cool modern design makes it a viable option for art projects, or any other situation in which a clean finish is needed.
