Show the highest level of professionalism with engraved letterhead design. It will enhance your image, increase your brand value and build a high quality image to impress on your clients. A steel or copper plate is engraved with a logo and/or name and then filled with ink and pressed onto your stock. The force of the pressure leaves your unique design standing proudly out of the paper. This gives the engraving a three-dimensional look and feel that always has the highest quality appeal. Engraving is at its best when used on thick quality cotton paper.
Offset printing will provide you with a letterhead design that is flat, with a clean image. This is the most common form of printing and is the least expensive when you are contemplating high volume jobs. It requires an image to be put onto a thin metal plate and then transferred to a rubber blanket which is pressed onto the paper. Offset printing is the choice when price takes priority over quality. If you are looking for a choice that is somewhere in between engraving and offset printing, Thermography may be the choice you are looking for. It is commonly considered “false engraving” and achieves a finished product that is similar to engraving at a lower cost. However, it is not safe for typical office laser printers.
There is the option of Laser-Safe Thermography for letterhead design that is safe for use in all laser printers. It won’t melt or otherwise damage the printer or paper. You should be certain when you choose Thermography for your letterhead design that it is laser-safe for use on your printer. This includes your envelopes, as well.
Embossing is a printing method that uses no foil or ink. Instead, a die and a press are used to raise the surface of the paper and leave a three-dimensional design that resembles engraving. Embossing as a more subtle letterhead design than engraving but does have a professional look.
